Luciano O. Monteiro MITI
Qualified Translation Specialist

Luciano was the chief Portuguese translator and editor for the FIFA.com website from 2009 to 2014. Besides translating and editing news stories, he managed a team of translators and wrote the institution's Brazilian Portuguese style guide.

After having worked as a journalist in the 1990s, he made the shift to providing language services for major football players, clubs, agents, federations and media outlets worldwide.

Some of his highlights included the 2006 World Cup, the 2008 Futsal World Cup and, since mid-2009, virtually all major soccer competitions. In 2010 and 2016, in two separate projects, he provided the Brazilian Portuguese translation of the voice commentary used for the world's two most popular football videogame franchises.

For the 2014 World Cup, DELETRA also translated tourist brochures into English, Spanish, French and Korean. In 2018, Luciano was based in Russia to work on translation projects during the World Cup.

In the run-up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, we translated magazines and individual news stories on sports such as volleyball, athletics and fencing. Most recently, we contributed to the English translation of the branded mobile site for one of the world's best footballers. Whatever your sport, we have the expertise to meet your goals!
